Rhys Owen (Fri only)
Rhys Owen is the founder and director of Pensaer, a London-based RIBA Chartered Practice, recognised by Wallpaper* Magazine as being amongst the top 30 young practices in the World! Rhys is known for thoughtful, carefully crafted architecture. He established the studio with the belief that an architect should act as a lead craftsperson: bringing together design, materials, technical knowledge and the skills of the wider project team to create buildings that feel distinctive, enduring and personal.
Rhys has more than twenty years’ experience in architecture and leads Pensaer’s work across residential, heritage, education and workplace projects. He has particular expertise in transforming existing buildings, including listed properties and homes in conservation areas, where contemporary design must be balanced with an understanding of character, history and construction.
Pensaer works closely with homeowners from the earliest ideas through planning, technical design and construction. The practice places particular emphasis on listening carefully, testing ideas through drawing and physical models, and helping clients make informed decisions about design, budget and the practical realities of building work.
At the Homebuilding & Renovating Show, Rhys will be joined by Pensaer architect Kat Freeman. Together, they will offer clear, independent advice to homeowners considering extensions, renovations, new homes and the adaptation of historic or complex properties.
