Bi-folding doors compromise security by their very design – it’s in the name: they need to fold and this necessity to fold prevents the panels from interlocking. The panels are connected by unsightly hinges which allow the panels to be forced open at any position in the track and serve as an immediate target for any intruder.

The New wave Door's unique patented design means all of the sliding panels on a New Wave Door fully interlock when closed and are fully captive in both the top and bottom track. The panels form a 'wall of security' and they cannot be levered apart or levered out of the track. There is no visible hinge for the burglar to attack as the patented concealed hinge design on the sliding panels only allows the hinge to operate when the master door is open and the panel is moved to the master door position, where it can swing open. This means the door cannot be forced open.
