Re-engineering a complex smart home

The existing system suffered from unsupported hardware, limited remote access, missing documentation and the absence of administrator credentials. Incomplete KNX programming files meant our engineers had to undertake a detailed investigative process to map the system architecture before any migration could begin.

By carefully analysing, documenting and rebuilding the installation, we were able to create a stable and future-ready platform while retaining key infrastructure already embedded within the property.

The completed system now provides seamless control of:

• 330 lighting circuits
• 28 motorised blinds and sheers
• 43 heating zones
• 22 air conditioning zones
• 56 audio zones

The upgrade introduced percentage-based blind control, enhanced climate management, fully integrated entertainment systems, upgraded touchscreens throughout the home and a reconfigured equipment rack for improved reliability and serviceability.

Today, the homeowners benefit from intuitive control of lighting, climate, shading, audio and video through the Crestron Home platform, with secure remote access and a technology foundation designed to support future expansion for years to come.
